Poly Relationship Readiness Assessment™

How Ready Are You for the Relationships You Want?

Polyamory requires more than openness to multiple relationships. Healthy non-monogamy also asks for communication, self-awareness, clarity, emotional capacity, and real-world relationship skills.

The PMA Poly Relationship Readiness Assessment™ helps you understand where you are already strong, where you may need greater clarity, and what could help you build healthier relationships moving forward.

Approximately 12–18 minutes

This is an educational relationship-readiness tool and is not a psychological or medical assessment.

What we look at

Six dimensions of readiness

01

Self-Awareness & Emotional Readiness

How you understand your motivations, and what you do with difficult emotions when they arrive.

02

Communication & Relational Skills

How needs, boundaries, disagreements, disclosure and repair actually work in your relationships.

03

Existing Relationship Readiness

For those with partners: whether this is mutually chosen, and how solid the ground already is.

04

Relationship Architecture Clarity

What kind of relationships you are genuinely available to build, and how decisions get made.

05

Metamour & Network Readiness

How you participate in a wider relationship network — privacy, scheduling, and partner autonomy.

06

Relationship Capacity & Logistics

Whether your real-world life — time, energy, money, logistics — can support what you are seeking.

What readiness means here

Readiness is not perfection

This is not a test of whether you are “poly enough,” a personality quiz, or a pass or fail examination. There is no single correct way to practice non-monogamy. Readiness is about awareness, capacity, skills, clarity, and the ability to participate in relationships responsibly.

Your preferences — hierarchy or none, parallel or kitchen table, marriage or no marriage, children or no children — never lower your readiness. Those are questions of fit, and we treat them that way.
